The RBE GPT1215 glow plug tester uses a dynamic real life environment
method to test glow plugs. The tester applies a voltage actually heating the device
simulating actual use in starting an engine. This assures that you have a good plug and
allows you to perform preventative maintenance on a glow plug even while it is still
installed in an engine.
The tester applies a voltage and heats the device for several seconds
while monitoring the glow plug performance. Should the glow plug be intermittent or fail
to heat properly, the tester will display the glow plug as bad. If the glow plug is open
or shorted, the tester displays the fault condition immediately without going through the
heating process.
Provides a superior method to checking glow plugs over static cold plug
tests since the device is tested similar to actual use. Resistance measurements of cold
plugs or improper voltage loading does not work on intermittent plugs or on plugs with
weak heating elements.
Easily calibrated to different types of glow plugs drawing 2 to 16 Amps.
Power this tester from a remote 12 Volt DC power supply or battery.
